Likely Pairs: Beat the Heat and In the Pool | Digital Scrapbooking Kit Combinations

Hello! I bet you can think of several photos you could scrap with Beat the Heat and In the Pool that are just sitting in your computer. Or, several you could “manufacture.” I think everyone “creates” a photo for the layout they want to do. Just in case you don’t remember, here’s the pieces of these 2 great kits.

Now let me show you what the ladies came up with.  Erica (stanworth) used the yellows in Beat the Heat along with the blues from In the Pool to demonstrate how excited her son was with his new goggles.  Love all the little photos showing the different stages of his grin.

Jenny shares her layout showing what happens to a clean face when you add ice cream. Love the use of the frames and clusters. Judging by his face, the cone was really good!

I hope you take a few minutes and scrap one of your favorite photo’s using Beat the Heat and In the Pool. Perhaps you’ll find just the spot for the ITP {Little People}. If you do, share it in the forum so I can see it also.

Beat the Heat | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

We need a way to beat the heat, right? Hi there, Chelle’s fans! It’s Cheryl, again, taking a look at a classic kit in Chelle’s Creations store called Beat the Heat. With the record-setting highs all over the USA, you might need a way to cool off like I do. Take the kids to the neighborhood park with a few frozen treats, and you can get some lovely photos. Your children will be happy and full of smiles, and then maybe you can steal some scrapbooking time while they nap to get those happy memories recorded. I have a few pages from Chelle’s friends to inspire you.

First, take a look at Jen’s page. Those are four of the happiest faces I’ve seen in some time! I love the way she angled the photos to add to the playfulness of the page.

Next, Leah has a delicious page of her sweetie enjoying a vanilla cone. I love the way she blended the large photo into the background, and her cluster of elements from the kit is perfect around her title. Check out that frame on the smaller photo. You can make the same thing using the Beat the Heat Wordart Sticks that coordinate with the kit. And, I personally love the little chalkboard InstaLife card she attached to the top right of the page. It’s from Chelle’s newest release, Chalked InstaLife Cards21768

Here’s a real treat for you: Roxana also used the Beat the Heat kit to make a page that is full of inspirational details. Roxana’s pages are always replete with elements that help to tell a story. Her clusters of frozen pops and spills lead your eye down the page from one cute picture to the next. The strips of papers from the kit are the perfect accents to add the feel of movement, and the bright colors leave you licking your lips for the sweetness. I love how each child is so engrossed in the act of consuming the yummy goodies that they don’t even pause to look at the photographer.beattheheatcl-web

Here’s a closer look at the kit and wordart sticks in the market. Now, I’m off to get a bowl of ice cream before it’s all gone! Stay cool! cc_beattheheat_kitcc_beatheat_wordstix

Beat the Heat | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

Wow, it is HOT in the south suddenly! The extreme heat and humidity has me scrambling to find ways to beat it and cool off. Speaking of which, Chelle has an adorable digital scrapbooking kit perfect for hot weather activities called Beat the Heat. It is loaded with ice creams and other frozen treats but without all the calories and mess! Her creative team members have made a couple of great pages to give you a taste for this great kit and its word art package.

First, Leslie had some delicious photos of her boys and her friend Valerie eating at the Denville Dairy, a restaurant in New Jersey famous for its home made ice creams. Her use of the Neapolitan colors from the kit scream ice cream, and the little touches of blue she used form a perfect visual triangle to guide a reader’s eyes around the page. I love her use of the conversation bubble for her journal spot.2011-Denville-Dairy

Mel chose to use  the brighter colors in the kit, and look how different her page is from Leslie’s! Isn’t this kit versatile? I love how Mel has used a pink flower and frame for her daughter’s picture; it really brings out the pink in her cheeks. I also love the way she split the words of the title and has them going up and down opposite sides of the page.  Dippin-Dots

Did you notice the words on sticks on Mel’s page? I love those, and I want to show you a closer look of those as well as the preview of the kit in the market. In case you don’t have this classic kit yet, the images are linked to the market. cc_beatheat_wordstix

Beat The Heat Playdate | Digital Scrapbooking Inspiration

Hello Everyone! Chelle’s Aunt Sari here. Have you ever Beat The Heat with Lemon-Lime-‘Lectricity? I have. Back in 1991, my sister Ellen and I lived in in an apartment community in Salt Lake City, Utah. We decided to go to Lagoon Amusement Park and meet up with some other family members. Ellen made some Lemon-Lime drink for us to take along. We had a fun and exhausting day. When we rolled back into the apartment, we both thought we had rinsed the remaining few drops of lemon-lime drink out of the cooler and left it on our kitchen counter. A few days later we heard this loud pop we thought was an electrical wire popping. Scared us good. We called maintenance and for the next 3 weeks, they opened up walls following the electric lines trying to find the “popping” noise, but it just kept moving to different points in the apartment. Being “good” tenants, we kept moving our “stuff” out of the way for the maintenance worker, which included the box the cooler was in. Imagine my sister’s horror and embarrassment, when she saw the pop-up lid on the cooler make the “noise” one day will the maintenance workers were in the apartment. They were clearly frustrated they hadn’t found the problem. [Start Laughing -HARD- now!) As the remaining drink mix in our cooler fermented, it built up pressure in the cooler until it “popped” to release the pressure. Then the pressure would build up again until it needed to “pop” again. You get the idea. Let’s just say when our lease expired, we moved to another location. Ellen still remembers the maintenance worker’s faces when she told them what was causing the popping? I was at work (Whew! Thank Goodness!) We were sooooo embarrassed! It’s been 21 years and I still get a little-red-faced when I think about, but then I just have to LOL!

Chelle’s designed some great things this week. She released the most melt-in-your-mouth, Beat the Heat kit that has had my mouth watering for the yummy coolness in the kit. She adds in Beat The Heat Word Art Sticks, & Beat The Heat Blog Freebie. I had to go buy myself a snow cone! LOL

For our CU Friends, she gives us CU String Flowers & a CU String Flowers Sampler.
Chelle released Clipping Digital Paper Clips in her ongoing instruction of Digital Scrapbook Tutorials. If your mail client doesn’t play friendly with the video, you’ll find all Chelle’s videos on her You-Tube Channel.
