Yee-Haw, Sunnyside Up!, History Lessons Playdate | Digital Scrapbooking Inspiration

It’s another great set of Fresh Fruit!  Chelle is re-releasing some old favorites plus she has some new CU as well. And hang out until the end for some cute freebies. First up, Chelle has added a great alpha to the already fabulous History Lessons!

Next up, the Yee-Haw Bundle, along with the individual boy and girl kits are in the store. And the wordart is free when you buy the bundle!

And then one of my favorite kits, Sunnyside Up along with wordstrips (free with purchase of the kit this week).  Great for those breakfast pictures you have!

And some summer wordart:

And then two CU items today.  First is the re-release of CU Banner kit and then a brand new set Button Threads.

And with all that, here are just a few CT pages using the kits releasing this week:

And like I promised, a few freebies that coordinate with Yee-Haw and Sunnyside Up:

Using Lists | Digital Scrapbooking Words on Wednesday

Using Lists | Digital Scrapbooking Words on Wednesday

On Wednesdays we will talk about journaling…or telling the stories that are part of our memories.

  • Sometimes
your
journaling
doesn’t
fit
in
a
tidy
paragraph.
  • Sometimes
your
journaling
isn’t
complete
sentences.
  • Sometimes
your
journaling is just a few words or phrases.
  • It’s
time
for
a
list.

List sample LO

Remember, when using a list for your journaling, the format of the items is important.  In general you want the items in your list to be consistent. For example:

  • Spinning
  • Twirling
  • Swaying
  • Run←See?  It doesn’t belong.

Unless you are doing it on purpose for effect.  Here I wanted to emphasize the contrast:

  • Making pancakes for breakfast.
  • Racing to sign papers.
  • Searching for backpacks.
  • Watching for the bus.
  • Silence…at last.

sample list LO 2

Lists can be especially useful in stories where you find yourself saying, “and then we went here…and then we did this…and then…and then…” Leave out the “and then” and turn it into a list…MUCH more interesting to read.

The next time you are ready to journal…just make a list of the things that come to your mind as you reflect on the photos…then turn your journaling into a list.

Chelle Scraps

Really I do…so from time to time I plan to share with you what I’ve scrapped recently:

I’ve nearly finished the 2009 yearbook…I needed the Vrooom! kit to do it. LOL!
dd15 birthday
I’m kinda stuck on blends right now to use poor quality photos. The lighting in my parents living room is really bad…and even with a flash it was grainy & almost fuzzy…but a blend will fix that.

It’s always hard to get good photos at a school program. ARG!

I struggle with scrapping this tradition every year…I think the theme/focus is on burning all the papers at the end of the school year, so FIRE/BURN. Which to me means the colors should be red/orange/yellow. But in the spring the canyon is always so green…this year i went with green and doodles and I like how it turned out.
This one makes me laugh:

She HATES that big photo…but I swapped them out and she decided it did look best. But it reminds me so much of her. She LOVES chocolate and strawberries…much too much to bother with getting out the chocolate fountain. Every day, yes EVERY day that we can get strawberries, she warms up some chocolate in the microwave and indulges in her favorite treat. She’s even taken to begging for Dove chocolate to melt. LOL!
So…why do I scrap this odd size?  12″ book don’t fit on most shelves (not that I don’t have plenty of 12″ paper scrapbooks) So when I started printing hardbound books, I went with 8.5×11.  But I’ve found I love the horizontal format.  So each “layout” is a double page spread:  8.5×22.
That’s it for this week.
