Once Upon A Time | Digital Scrapbooking Words on Wednesday

Hello Hello! Hope your week is going well. How many stories have you told staring with “Once upon a time.,” that catch-all jumping point for our imaginations. We adapt the stories to fit our listeners, an event, or just pure fantasy. We challenged the creative team to use “Once Upon A Time.” in a layout they created. Just let your imagine roll…

April (billvarmint) used our theme to share a story about her cat, Princess Gabriella. Love that the picture of her cat as she her drowsily enjoys the sunlight and window on her stack of pillows. Great clustering & layering.

April used Happily Ever After

Helen (Winipeg1) tells the tale of her daughter’s love of books. She always wanted them to surround her.  Love the use of the plaid paper and flowers. The spritz of paint colors adds to the beauty of this layout.

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you say, “Once Upon A Time?” Scrap it and don’t forget to upload the layout to the gallery. I’d love to see your work.

Using Song Lyrics | Digital Scrapbooking Words on Wednesday

Hello Scrappers!

Do you and your guy have a favorite song? Do you find yourself humming or whistling a song when you look at a picture? Songs indelibly mark many important moments in our lives. Using lyrics to add meaning and inspirational words to our digital scrapbooking layouts will add emotional depths to the memory.

Here are some steps to using lyrics in our layouts:
Step 1: Find the perfect song for your layout — think of what reminds you of the people or events in the photos and the mood you want to convey. Go through your music collection, or type  “lyrics” in your favorite search engine and through the magic of the internet appropriate words will appear.
Step 2: Use the title of the song as the title of your layout, For example, if you’re doing a baby theme, use the title of the child’s favorite lullaby.
Step 3: Journal the first verse or first few verses and place them next to your photos. Or you them as part of a decorate border or frame.
Steph 4: Use the entire song lyrics in your layout on its own page and have the related photos on the facing page.

I have a couple of layouts to show you from the Creative Team using song lyrics. Both of our ladies chose to use songs by the Beatles. First I have Leah (CatLady) She used “Here Comes The Sun.” I liked the way she used the same lyrics around the edge of her photos. The picture works well with the rays of the sun and the shadows on the picture.Leah (CatLady) She used Heroes {Fire & EMT}, Ladybug Hugs, Chalked {Doodles & InstaLife Cards}

April (billvarmint) used “Good Day Sunshine” by the Beatles as the inspiration for her pool layout. I particularly like the way she added the plum and red tones to her layout to match the slide in her photo. Her flower clusters are absolutely perfect.

April (billvarmint) She used At the Beach & Indian Summer. Good Day Sunshine is by the Beattles

Need help finding the lyrics. Here’s a search engine dedicated to lyrics.

The next time you find yourself whistling a familiar tune, use that song to add to your layout. It will always be a special memory for those who know the song.

Hugs!

Indian Summer Playdate | Digital Scrapbooking Inspiration

Hello Friends! Indian Summer is a favorite time of year for me. I love FALL! College Football, Tailgating, the World Series, temperatures dropping, and watching the leaves change from green to the brilliant hues of Yellow, Orange & Red. For many years, I lived in a community where the maple trees had both a green and a deep plum magenta leaf. When I first saw Chelle’s kit, I was immediately drawn to the magenta flower with the yellow in the center. It made me think of many “Decoration Day” flowers we take to family headstones to honor and remember our family. We put a lot or orange or plum/magenta on our male ancestors. Oh My Gosh! Do you need a new fall siggy? Chelle has you covered there as well. Let me show you you the goodies of the week.

Chelle has also been busy working on some fun and exciting CU items. I haven’t shown you some of them because we’ve been canning. Last Saturday Chelle canned salsa (40 quarts) and I was did (65 points) of beans. I know she’s been canning beans, corn and peaches also. Here are the CU products she’s released since I last did a playdate.

The first video explains why she created the Indian Summer Kit. Then Chelle has 2 new videos to help you with your scrapbooking. Here’s a link to each of them and to her YouTube Channel. Just click on the image.
