Batter Up | DIgital Scrapbooking Classics

It’s spring, and it’s time to talk about my favorite sport – baseball! Chelle has the perfect digital scrapbooking kit for me to use with my baseball photos, and her creative team has been busy using this kit to remind us how awesome it is. It’s called Batter Up, and it’s great for pictures at professional sporting events and little league games, too.

Jen used Batter Up to make a terrific card. Have you thought about using your digital scrapbooking goodies to make a hybrid project? Jen altered a 12×12 Chopped Paper template from Scrapping with Liz to make a birthday card for a special little guy. Look how awesome those baseballs look in the circle spots! I love that she has “All Star” in the title spot of the template. CardBaseball_zpsd3468c5eJen

Next, Brandy has made a page for her son’s book with his t-ball pictures. I really love how she has layered the peanuts, sunflower seeds, and popcorn on the chain linked fence. The realistic elements Chelle included in this kit are so helpful in setting the mood, and the “I {heart} t-ball” ribbon is perfect. (There’s also one for baseball in the kit, of course). studio-a-tball-webBrandy

Kassie has made an adorable page for us using pictures of herself when she was a child playing baseball. Her dad was the coach, and I think he is probably beaming looking at this layout. The blend of the silhouette in the background gives a nice aged touch, and I love how she used Mark My Words to show us where she is in each photo.  So cute!littleleague-1Kassie

Finally, Erica has a page for us showcasing her dad with his grandchildren at the Colorado Rockies stadium. The Rockies host a Fantasy Camp week in Arizona at their training camp, and the fans who attend get to play ball with the Rockies coaches and some of the retired players. Later on during the regular season, the Fantasy Campers are invited to a game and special tour at Coors Field. Erica’s page is about that special game night where her children got to see their grandpa play ball with the Rockies. What she doesn’t say on her page, but is pretty spectacular to note, is that her sister also sang the National Anthem for the game that night. Wow! Batter Up- by Chelle's Creations

Carrot Patch | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

Did you “Spring Forward” this week? I’ll tell you, I don’t spring in any direction, and this time change in the spring is particularly difficult for me. But, the one good thing it does for me is remind me that Easter is upon us, and I love Easter. I love remembering Easter celebrations of my childhood with new dresses, a special sunrise service, and egg hunts. My sisters and I hunted hard boiled eggs. Of course, we never found all of them, and weeks after Easter an egg or two would surface in all its grossness. Such great memories! Chelle’s team members have been playing with her classic kit Carrot Patch, which is great for vintage Easter and Spring photos as well as the photos of memories from more recent years.

Ronnie had a photo of her family on Easter in 1969 (she’s the cutie in the middle with the curls). She chose to scrap that memory with Chelle’s Carrot Patch kit. The colors in the kit match perfectly with the colors in her older photo. I love the fencing she has used on the top and bottom of her page to frame the large center section. Her clusters of eggs, flowers, and bunnies show off several of the cute elements in this kit.Chelle Creations - Carrot Patch

Carol also had some older photos to use, and she had some cute curls, too! Her photos were black and white since they were from 1953, and they also look fantastic with the muted colors of this collection. I love her Easter bonnet, and  I love the angled slant of her photos and elements. That basket full of eggs is perfect here.CarolJ_thecarrot_patch_zps55e39f5a

Brandy had some more current photos to scrap. Her photos of her children wearing their bunny masks are too cute for words! And, she has accented them so appropriately with the Carrot Patch Word Bits that coordinate with the kit and are included in the bundle. I love how she used the large photo of the baskets on the bottom of the page, and her title uses one of the Carrot Patch Bonus Alphas.easter-baskets-webB

Finally, Leslie also had some modern day photos of an egg hunt that occurred while she was living in Texas. Her neighbor invited the children to hunt eggs, but the eggs were confetti filled. Invariably, these eggs  were smashed on all the kids and the grown-ups’ heads. I love the group photo with the “bunny ears” fingers on some of their heads, and the confetti sprinkles on the corners of her page help to tell the story very well. What a fun day!LABeahm-the-carrot-patch

Gnome Sweet Gnome | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

Do you love gardening, or even just playing in the dirt? Chelle has several digital scrapbooking kits that are perfect for photos of your yard or garden projects, but two of my favorites are Gnome Sweet Gnome and the Gnome Sweet Gnome Add-on. The dirt splatters and little felt gnome statues are just two of the many whimsical elements perfect for gardening pages. Chelle’s team members have been playing with these kits and have some terrific layouts for us.

First, Kayla has a gorgeous page with one of Chelle’s new In the Pocket {Strips} templates and the Gnome Sweet Gnome Collection. Her daughter is a poser and insisted on having her picture taken in their flower garden on her first day of Kindergarten. I think it was a very smart idea, don’t you? And, I love that pink flamingo and the crocheted flower accenting one of the rectangular paper shapes. PrettyPoser_Aug11_web_zps795398e3

Next, Ronnie has a beautiful layout for us in keeping with the theme of these kits. She visited the Dallas Arboretum, which is a must-see when in Dallas, in my opinion. She saw the gorgeous flowers there and took lots of photos of them, but she captured a really cute picture of her son enjoying the grounds there, too. The brown background and the dirt splat with the gnome are used perfectly here. Chelle Creations - Gnome Sweet Gnome<br />
Template - Simple Scrapper Premium Membership

Finally, to show you the versatility of these kits, Lynett used them for a page that is not about gardening. After a day visiting grandparents, her son and his dog fell asleep in the car, and she couldn’t resist snapping some photos of them. They both look so relaxed and peaceful. The cluster of leaves and ribbons across the top, and the dirt splat behind the photos on the bottom are the perfect enhancements to her adorable photos. sleepyboys_zpseece04ab Mel also made a non-themed layout for us. She had a terrific picture of her boys laughing and giggling (yes, boys do that sometimes, and it’s worth catching in a photo!). The angled design of the page and the bright, cheery colors give the whole page a fun and happy look.Laugh-Out-Loud

Techno Love | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

Whew! I’ve been proofreading a student’s computer science fair project, and as usual, I am also starting to think about Valentine’s Day a little late. With these two things both rambling around in my head, I decided to shop for a digital scrapbooking kit. Can you guess which kit I found? Chelle’s Techno Love kit jumped right out at me. It is the perfect mix of geek and chic, and it was love at first byte with me with all its bold shades of pink and red and those cute little computer elements. Lest you think you need geeky pictures to go with this kit, a couple of Chelle’s team members have made some example layouts to inspire you and show you the kit’s versatility.

My friend Leslie made the first page I want to show you. Her husband is the qwerty to her keyboard, and she is missing him terribly while he is away with his job. Skype has been their friend, and with a good webcam, she was able to capture her photo and use Chelle’s kit to make a perfect page with respect to the theme of the kit. I love that she put her husband’s picture in the computer monitor felt from the kit and then framed the two photos similarly to give equal weight to each. May your cache of love always be full, Mrs. Leslie!LABeahm-Technolove

We have a few guests on Chelle’s team this month, and one of them is Brandy. She has generously provided two layouts for this blog post. The first one uses the full theme of the kit, and I love how she clustered the USB heart cable with the ribbons and the title on her page. She began taking pictures of her sweet baby using the iPad when she was very tiny, and she has collected quite a few lovely photos. Now that Delilah is 19 months old, she has had enough experience with the iPad that she can work a piece puzzle and color sort. Amazing! I’m sure she is just a chip off the old silicon block. ipad-web

OK, enough of the computer metaphors. Brandy had these older photos of Delilah that she had never scrapped because she just hadn’t found the right kit. Techno Love was PERFECT for them. Look how well the pink and red colors of her outfit match the kit colors. And the heart stitches are the most appropriate complement to the clusters of heart and string elements. I love that she used the blank tags to date and label the layout, too.studio-delilah7mo-web

I hope you are inspired to check out this kit. I’ll show you a close-up view of it here. The image is linked to the market. Also, check out the Techno Love Valentines in the market, too. If you’re like me and are shopping a bit late this year, maybe you need these like I do. Just print from home and you’ll save yourself a trip to the store and have some original Valentines to give out this week. It’s a win-win! cc_technolove_kit

My Sweet Valentine | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

Are you thinking about Valentine’s Day yet? Chelle Creations has the perfect classic kit for your pictures called My Sweet Valentine. It’s full of red and pink hearts and flowers, yummy cupcakes, candies, and cookies, and the cutest alpha with little red hearts on each letter. But, it’s good for more than just a sweetheart page. I have a few pages from Chelle’s Creative Team to show you the versatility of this kit.

First, Jan made a page using one of the quickies for the kit, and her photo aligns perfectly with the theme of the kit. I love her vintage photo here. Isn’t it perfect? mampd_zps3a65099d

Next, Ophelia made a delicious page with pictures of her sweet daughter enjoying a most scrumptious-looking cupcake after her brother’s baseball game.  She used my favorite paper as the background – don’t you love that chocolate embossed cupcake paper?  I love how she made her title from two different alphas: the Banner alpha and the one included in My Sweet Valentine. It’s perfectly adorable, just like the expression on her child’s face. 2012-06-04-cupcakelove_sm

Kairyn also made a couple of pages with the kit, and her event to scrapbook was the 100th day of school. You can tell from her pages that this was a very big event, and my favorite thing about their celebration was the crazy hats they made. Look closely: each hat has 100 dots on the many streamers hanging around it. And, look at the expressions – it must have been a really fun day! Kairyn also used two alphas for her title, the Banner Alpha and the Marker Alpha. The pink polka dot paper was from another of Chelle’s kits but she recolored it to match this kit. I’ll show you the double page first, and then scroll down to see details in the individual left and right pages.2009-02-11HundredthDay-2pg2009-02-11HundredthDay-L2009-02-11HundredthDay-R

1.08 Classics: Winter Thrills | Digital Scrapbooking Product Highlights

Winters are fairly mild where I live, and I don’t see snow every year, unlike Chelle who probably sees more than enough of the white stuff even before Christmas. I haven’t seen snow yet this season, so  I’ve been thinking about planning a trip to an area where I can do more than ski, like snow shoeing, tubing, or snowmobiling. I’ve got a new pocket camera ready to take with me to the slopes, and I know the perfect digital scrapbooking kit I’ll use for my photos. It’s Chelle’s  classic Winter Thrills kit. Have you seen it? I love it! I bought it last year when I had just returned from my very first time on the slopes.

Krisi has also just recently learned to ski, and she used Chelle’s kit to make a page about it. She had “learning to ski” on her bucket list, just as I did, and now she can check it off. I know she had fun, and I’m impressed that there are no pictures of her on the ground. She looks very relaxed and confident, don’t you think? I love how she used the silhouette on the page blended into the tan paper, and I love her mix of alphas and the word strip to make the title. This kit and the bundle (which is a great value) have a lot of unique and fun elements, like the frost border and the skis and poles Krisi has added.2011_Skiing_web

Jennifer is fortunate enough to live where snow is more of a standard winter feature, so her family is accustomed to winter sports. One of her boys just recently got hooked on snowmobiling. I can see why! Her page with the fun clusters makes it look like a fantastic thrill!  Like Krisi, Jennifer used the frost, but she used the element instead of the border and arranged several copies of it behind the clusters of snowflakes, photos,  paper shapes, and word strips. I love the way she buttoned the snowflakes to the page, and the felt snowmobile element looks just like the one in her photos. web_letsride

I’ll leave you with a closer look at the kit in the market. Be sure to check out the bundle; it is a bargain with all the extra elements, clusters, and word art pieces. The images are linked to the store at Scrap Orchard. cc_winterthrills_kitcc_winterthrills_bundle

If you’ve used Chelle’s Winter Thrills kit or the bundle on your scrapbooking layout, I would personally love it if you posted it in her gallery at Scrap Orchard. I’m still planning my trip, remember, so I might need some inspiration from you! I’ll be on the look-out for your page.

Oh Come Let Us Adore Him | DIgital Scrapbooking Classics

I am really excited about today’s blog post because I get to tell you about a truly wonderful digital scrapbooking kit, Oh Come Let Us Adore Him. It just so happens this is my all-time favorite Christmas kit on the market, bar none. I have a real affinity for Christmas kits, and I have been known to purchase far too many of them. I have lots of kits I have never used, and yet, I have made dozens of things from this kit and the quickies including  Christmas cards, calendar pages, coffee mugs and yes, even scrapbook pages. Chelle’s creative team members love this kit as much as I do, and they have made some pages to show you.

Karen made a page with a blended photo of a nativity scene that she and her children use every year, and of course, this kit is perfect for it. I love how she included Luke 2:11 on her page, and I love the way she has repeated the “Away in a Manger” song words element from the kit to tie all the elements of the page together. The words are subtle since they are dark on a blue background, but they are very powerful in conveying the meaning of the page and the season.mangerKaren

Jan also had a nativity scene in a photograph to show us. She recently visited Hershey Park and was impressed by the site of the crèche outside the entrance to the park. Her page looks like she has added dozens of nice little touches, and she has, but her secret is that she has taken advantage of Chelle’s help by using a quickie background paper, already decorated, and a frame cluster for her photo. All she needed to add was the journaling and the title art and she was finished with a beautifully decorated page. crecheJan

Finally, Dagi has made a photoless page that shows simply and beautifully the story of Christmas. This page would make a beautiful calendar top for the month of December, or it would be a lovely cover for a photobook of your December memories or a December daily project. The felt people look real enough to touch, and I love the effect of the red patterned paper cut in a wavy pattern.Chelle_OcomeLetUsAdoreHim_1Dagi

Be sure you take a close look at the kit and the quickies in the market. You can also purchase the felties alone, if you like. By the way, I always buy the quickies Chelle makes because when I use them, it’s like having Chelle scrapbook for me, so it saves me time, and my pages look professional when I’m done. I hope you’ll take advantage of them, too. And, I hope your Christmas celebrations include looking closely at the nativity scenes you see to discover the meaning of Christmas.

Ho! Ho! Ho! | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

With Black Friday fast approaching, I’m starting to plan for Christmas, as I’m sure you are, too. I’m planning for bargain shopping, but I’m also planning for the photos I want to take because I LOVE to use my Christmas digital scrapbooking kits. One of my favorites is Chelle’s Ho! Ho! Ho! It has so many terrific items – the button tree, the jolly Santa, the reindeer, the sleigh, and some of the cutest gift boxes ever. Chelle’s talented team members have been playing with this kit, and I want to show you what they’ve created.

Kassie used Ho! Ho! Ho! to scrap a page that was NOT a Christmas page. Her daughter was wearing an adorable outfit with the same read and green colors in the kit when she captured her sitting up – a major milestone for a baby! She used the papers and string and splats without the Christmas-specific elements to make her page. Isn’t that the cutest little headband?sittingupKassie Melissa used the kit WITH all the Christmas goodies to make a double page about her son’s first Christmas, which is another major milestone. I love the way she used the Santa on one side and the reindeer and sleigh on the other. Here’s her double page and then a closer look at the left and right sides. First-ChristmasdbFirst-Christmas-LSFirst-Christmas-RS Finally, Dagi decided to make a Christmas greeting card with the kit, and of course, it is the perfect time to do that and the perfect kit to use! Her black and white photo is beautiful, and the word art from the bundle is the perfect embellishment.Merry&Bright_card3_1

It’s time for me to get back to planning for the holidays. I hope your plans have some Ho! Ho! Ho! to them!

In the Pocket | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

Do you like the pocket pages trend? I love it for my pages of daily pictures, and Chelle has the perfect digital scrapbooking kits for getting the traditional pocket pages look in a digital format. She calls them In the Pocket, and they are some of the most versatile page products in existence. They can be used for a daily photo project to show all 7 photos for the week on one page, or they can be used to show multiple photos from one event on a page. The individual pockets that Chelle gave away as freebies in an previous blog post here can be used to highlight specific elements on a page. Let me show you what I mean.

Erica used Chelle’s freebie pocket to hold a ticket stub from the game she attended that is the subject of her page. It gives a 3D look that enhances her page, especially the way she has the ticket slanted at an angle inside the pocket and sticking out of the top of it just a bit.Batter Up, Summer Lovin' and In the Pocket- by Chelle's Creations<br /><br /><br />
Will 'o the Wisp template- by Little Green Frog Designs Next, Dagi made a page of her trip to the Zoo using the whole pocket page look. It’s perfect for a set of photos like this. Don’t you just love her title? It looks like all the little animals are separate pieces carefully stuffed into the pocket with the title letters. Dagicc_inpocket_pages_06_1 Mel also made a page to showcase multiple photos from one event, and she used some of the extra photo spots for papers and elements she liked in the kit she was using. Finally, Leslie has made a page about a her son’s soccer season with an In the Pocket page. These are perfect for a recap of a sports season with spots for several photos.2012_05-Nathan-Soccer-

There are many ways to use these templates, with and without the plastic cover. Here’s a closer look at what’s in the market. The images are linked.

Taste of Home | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

Hi Chelle’s fans! It’s Cheryl, again, and I have a confession to make: I love food and pictures of food. When I was a very little girl, I got in big trouble when I glued food pictures from a magazine onto my bedroom wall. I started making scrapbooks soon after that; now that I think about it, I’m pretty sure my mom bought me a scrapbook to keep me from ruining the walls. I think my history of getting in trouble with glue was one of the things that made me fall in love with digital scrapbooking, and with kits like Chelle’s Taste of Home, I can have the best of both worlds without the mess or the trouble! I love this kit! I’m sure you can see why. Just take a close look at those pie ellies! YUM!

Chelle’s Creative Team members have been playing with this kit because it is perfect for scrapbooking everything from childhood pictures of family mealtimes to current Fall activities that don’t even center around food. Lynett has an example of the latter. She has a daughter who moved into a new dorm this year, and her page is about documenting that milestone event. The papers and hearts in the kit are perfect to coordinate with her photos and portray the sentiment of the occasion. newdormLynett Next, Ronnie tells a story on her page of her love of pumpkin since moving to the USA. Look how yummy that felt pie slice looks in the title of her page. Her photos are so good, I’m sure I would have glued them to my wall if I had seen them as a child. pumpkinpietime_600web-1Ronnie

The next two layouts are Thanksgiving themed, and this mini-kit is perfect for these holiday pages. If you aren’t like me, and you don’t get your camera out during the meal and take pictures, you can still use this kit for your photos of the family gathering like Shanell did. She used the kit with her photos of various family activities on Thanksgiving instead of photos taken at the meal, and she used the turkey and pie elements to add the definite association with Thanksgiving. I think it’s a really smart way to scrap, and it probably kept her camera cleaner than mine is.  thanksgiving-20111Shanell Finally, Jennifer’s pictures are all about the turkey, so the kit was perfect for her photos. That large felt turkey in the center lets you know for certain that the bird is of primary importance to the holiday at her home. I love what she did with the “giving thanks” word element in the background. She changed the color of that element in the kit and made it larger to fill the same space as the paper in the background making it look like it’s part of the  paper itself. I think it’s very creative!web_turkey-timeJennifer

Here’s a closer look at this versatile mini-kit in the market. The image is linked. cc_tasteofhome_preview So, take a word of advice from me. Keep taking those food photos, but don’t use them for wallpaper. Add them to your digital scrapbooking layouts. Or, if you want to keep your camera safely away from the food, you can shop for the kits like Taste of Home that have the great looking food in them, all ready for you to use without the mess but great for adding the remembrance of  the comforts of home.
