Kick it! | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

Hello, Chelle’s Creations fans! That title “Kick it!” is not a command for you to take out your aggression on your computer that’s lagging, but rather it’s the title of one of Chelle’s classic digital scrapbooking kits with a soccer theme. The parts and pieces come in 8 different colors, so it should be easy to match it to all your team colors. But, even if you aren’t a fútbol fan, this kit is very versatile and could be used for a variety of layouts.

Let’s take a look at some pages the Creative Team has made. First, Carol had some terrific pictures of her little guy playing soccer. Look at his enthusiastic expression! And, I love that cluster of the soccer ball and buttons on top of the ric rac wrapping the page. CarolJ_kickIt

Here’s a page you might have seen before. Kairyn used some of the blues in the kit to make her page about a soccer game, and I love how she used the photos in circle shapes. I also like how she colored the silhouette to match her background.

Jenn took a different approach and used the greens in the kit to scrap a St. Patrick’s Day layout. She also used one of Chelle’s new In the Pocket templates. She used one of the full size square templates but made it smaller to create pockets on her page, and it gives the page a very tactile look. SOCCKickItPocketsPeaGfndNoodSt-LJennM

Back 2 School | DIgital Scrapbooking Classics

It’s graduation time! Hooray for the end of a school year and the beginning of new opportunities! I have just returned from my daughter’s college graduation, and I have begun the process of editing my photos from the big event because I really need to use my digital scrapbooking skills to show my love to her. My daughter even lamented the fact that she has lots of photos on social media sites but very few photos in print, so I am going to help her remedy that situation. I am looking at Chelle’s Back2School kit to help me with that project. It’s one of her classics, and although you might think of it for the beginning of school, I think it will be perfect for graduation photos, as well. Roxana thought so, too, and she made this marvelous double page spread of her child’s kindergarten graduation. I love that school bus and the different alphas used for the large title. The various buttons and clips used to “stick” the journal strips to the page really emphasize that this indeed was a tactile learning environment, full of wonderful memories.42-43-graduation-webRoxana

Melissa used the kit to commemorate her son’s 2nd grade year in school. The cluster of school elements – the locker, ruler, pencil, composition notebook, and backpack  – are appropriate here for a young child but would also work on a page for a high school student, as well. Look at his sweet smile! Grade-2Melissa

The primary colors in the kit make it coordinate with many of our daily pictures as well as school photos. Karen made a beautiful page about her cat Reggie, and the bright, bold colors make me think of many happy times I’m sure she had with her fur baby. Her large photo blend on the grid paper is outstanding, and the cluster of paper pieces under the smaller photo draw my eye to his sweet, peaceful face. Reggie2Karen

Now, I need to get busy scrapping some memories of my daughter’s graduation. See you back here soon!

Slam Dunk | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

Chelle’s Creative Team Members have been making some great pages for you with her classic digital scrapbooking kit, Slam Dunk. It’s a versatile kit suitable for pages with a hoops theme as well as pages of many other themes.

Heather was extremely fortunate to be able to go to several 76ers games in 2001, and she got a great shot of Iverson after a game. I’m sure it didn’t hurt that she had a courtside seat! Chelle’s Slam Dunk kit is perfect for such a unique photo.sixers2001_600Heather Mary also made a page with one very special photo. I am certain her little guy will one day play basketball at least as well as Allen Iverson. Isn’t this adorable? keptoptimism-webMary Still with a basketball theme, Kairyn made a terrific double page spread with photos of her boys playing hoops at home. They show the shear joy of the little guy getting to spend time with his older brother at Thanksgiving. 2008-11-27SlamDunk-2pgKairyn And, here are the left and right pages separately for a closer look. 2008-11-27SlamDunk-LKairyn2008-11-27SlamDunk-RKairyn

Remember I said this kit is great with lots of themes? Jan proved it by using Slam Dunk to document her story about the pumpkin carving at Halloween. The details on the jack-o-lanterns is truly incredible, and the orange and black paper and elements in the kit match her photos perfectly. frightdelightJan

And, finally, do you think it’s true that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas? Well, it might if you don’t put it on a fun scrapbook page like Jennifer did. She was one of the lucky ones who spent time at Scrap Orchard’s Digiscrapapalooza a few weeks ago, and she has proven that she and her friends can sing YMCA as well as the Village People. OK, maybe not, but her page made me think they can. webYMCAJennifer Looks like so much fun!

I think the team has done a superb job showing off Slam Dunk. Makes me want to pick up my camera, take some pictures of my boys playing HORSE on our driveway, and make a great scrapbook page with this kit.

Prehistoric: Digital Scrapbooking Classics

This is the second day of my spring break from school, and I am taking time to organize my digital scrapbooking supplies. I have found some great kits in my stash that I once relied heavily upon, but lately I’ve been too busy to even remember I had them! Some of Chelle’s Creations very talented team members have been looking back into their computer files, as well, and they have provided a few scrapbook pages using the great classic kit called Prehistoric to give you some new inspiration.

Jennifer used the kit to document a trip to Rapid City, SD, and it’s perfect because her children are sitting on a dinosaur statue. I love how she used the felt dinosaurs to draw attention to the “real” dino in the photo.   web_Rapidcitysd_jennifer Ophelia also had some photos to scrap with a dinosaur theme. She took her son and his cousin to a museum that had a dinosaur dig. I love the footprint stitching highlighting the child in the photo.

Ronnie also used the kit, but her photos have nothing to do with dinosaurs. She and her husband were eating at a famous restaurant, the H3 Ranch, and took photos of the rustic décor and gorgeous food preparations, so the colors and textures of the Prehistoric kit were a perfect choice for her scrapbook page. Have you done your computer spring organizing yet and found the great classic kit Prehistoric? Make a page (or three!) with it and post in Chelle’s Gallery at Scrap Orchard. We love to see all the creative ways Chelle’s friends use her kits. What? You don’t own this kit? Click on the preview image of the kit here, and it will take you right to the store for a closer look. cc_prehistoric_preview_2post

Under Construction | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

Hello Chelle Fans! Welcome to another digital addition of  “Classics!”  Today we are going to be looking at some great layouts made by some of Chelle’s Creative Team Members using the must have “Under Construction” kit.  If you have a little boy in your family, or a guy who loves to build things, this is a kit you have got to have in your digital scrapbooking stash! Lynette made a wonderful layout documenting the new porch she and her husband built for the house that didn’t have one! Love the element placement! Here is one made by Carol showcasing a cute little construction worker having fun at a Children’s Museum! That slight grungy feel is great! Here is one by Fonnetta showing off the remodel of her kitchen cabinets! I love that border and title work! Now, lest you think that you can only use a themed kit for that specific theme, here is another one by Fonnetta showing us the versatility of this kit.  Isn’t is great?! Here is a look at the full kit.  The image is linked to Chelle’s store at Scrap Orchard so that you can go and pick up this kit  for yourself! Pearly Whites | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

You’re in for a treat today! A few of Chelle’s Creations team members have been making beautiful digital scrapbook pages with the classic kit Pearly Whites. Have you seen it? Do you own it? It’s a gorgeous mix of blues and pinks perfect for pictures of your little one’s toothless grin or even pictures of your teen’s beautiful smile on the day she had her braces removed. Jami used the kit to make a page with a picture of the tooth pillow she uses with her children. I love how she used two teeth for the o’s in the title. JamiTooth-Pillow Jenn had a similar idea with her title using the tooth as a substitute for the letter “o” in her layout about her daughter losing a tooth while the tooth fairy was “on vacation. “ Oooops! I’m sure the tooth fairy made up for overdue work when she returned! ilostmytooth

Lest you think this kit is only good for pictures about teeth, take a look at Jan’s page about her daughter’s ice skating competition. Everything about the papers in this kit make it perfect for Jan’s pictures, from the pink, blue, and gray striped paper to the papers with sparkly embellishments that make me think of snow and ice. Janscolonialclassic Heather also made a page about an impressive ice sculpture she saw called “Eskimo Kisses.” No teeth here, yet look how well the papers match the colored ice in the sculptures!ice09_eskimo600Heather Do you see how versatile this kit is? You can see it in more detail here. I hope you’ve been inspired to make some creative pages with it. Happy Scrapping!
