Perfect Pairs: Summer Lovin’ & Home Canning | Digital Scrapbooking Kit Combinations

Hello Everyone! Chelle’s Aunt Sari here. Summer is the time for jellying. I miss the fresh berries off the vine. My favorite fruit is a black cap raspberry. I remember picking them each summer at my Grandma Pearl’s. We’d get up early, probably about 6am. Put on clothes, then use a flannel shirt as a jacket. Grab a belt, a 5 quart ice cream bucket, a bandana and gloves. We used just about anything to protect us from the thorns on those black cap vines. It didn’t matter how careful you were, you always came home with scratches in places you didn’t realize those thorns could get to. LOL!  Into Grandma’s house to give her the new harvest. She’d have her juicer/steamer on the stove, with the berries reducing to a liquid which slowly drained into another pan. That liquid is a very intensely flavored syrup which we then used to make jelly. It’s a hot job performed in hot weather, as the steamy room is perfumed with the steam of fruited syrups. I highly recommend central air. LOL Again!

They creative team has used Chelle’s Summer Lovin, Summer Lovin’ Ginghams & Home Canning Mini kits.

Leafy Treetop Playdate | Digital Scrapbooking Inspiration

Hello Friends! Chelle’s Aunt Sari here. Wow what a weekend! We have an annual family golf tournament (on saturday) named in honor of my father, The Glen Griffin Classic. You may recall, I don’t participate – the direct sunlight and allergies issues I have. So instead, we get babysitting duty. I love me some little peeps. I just didn’t know they were coming until yesterday morning. 7 of the peeps. (Jayley 12, Mylie 10, Ivy 7, Daizee, 5, Zion 2, Tanzi <1, and Nikkos <1) LOL! NOISE! MORE NOISE!  My sister Barb and I (ages 50, and 45) don’t make a lot of noise, so having  7 of the peeps was pretty noisy! They were a lot of fun. Jayley and I played with PSE9 and Chelle’s Girl Power Reloaded kit. She did AWESOM! I knew she’d catch on fast. We also cut out (yes, by hand with scissors, yuck!) some of Chelle’s stuff & put it through my Xyron and made stickers. I’ve had mine for 20+ years and we use it all the time. Especially for sunday school lessons. I think I created a MONSTER! AWK! I definitely should have through that through better. LOL Oh & guess what? My adhesive cartridge is now gone! Love me some peeps!

Leafy Treetops reminds me of a favorite childhood church song and I’ve been humming it since I first saw this kit during the Iron Scrapper Week 1 kit & SOUL’s (Scrap Orchard Live) first live broadcast. I was thinking about Leafy Treetops and couldn’t help thinking about Labor Day and hauling wood when I was around 10-16. Labor day was definitely L-A-B-O-R day in my family. Dad would get us up at 5, we’d make a sack lunch, climb in the wood truck and head for the canyon. Dad would cut down the dead Quaking Aspen and start cutting it up. My job was to roll the big pieces down the hill to the truck. As I got older, I learned to stack the wood in the truck, just as tight as I could. If I didn’t, Dad would throw them all out of the truck and we’d have to hand them to him again and he’d re-stack them. Dad was a jokester!!! Just before he would fell the tree, and he knew it was going to fall upward, he’d yell, “Run! Sara Run! It’s come right at you.” Terrified, I’d jump and run anywhere that wasn’t where I had been! You could hear the tree knocking branches off other trees and I just knew I would die under a quakie! Dad would stand up there and laugh and then tell me I sure could run fast when I needed to. He did that at least once every “haul” and you never knew if it was real, so, each time we would run like crazy! He was a very funny Dad. LOL!

On to the products, this week we have Leafy Treetops & Leafy Treetops Quickies & offers CU Bubble Wrap Brushes for her CU friends.

Oh Snap! Kit, Oh Snap! Word Art & Oh Snap! Quickies: The Quickies are the new release this week. We previously released Oh Snap! Word Art & Oh Snap! kit was part of Chelle’s birthday daily download in July. I did the playdate on Oh Snap! in July. Here’s the link!

Spic-n-Span | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

Laundry is that chore that is never finished. Wash, dry, iron, fold, clean, sweep, then do it all over again. If you are participating in a Project 365 this year, you have probably taken a picture of the laundry room already. Chelle has created the perfect digital scrapbooking kit to accessorize your pages called Spic-n-Span.  Take photos of your children doing chores, or of a house renovation (lots of cleaning required there!), or you can even make a chore chart from the elements in the kit. Her CT has been playing with the kit to show you a few possibilities.

First, Patty has some photos of her new bathroom all clean and ready for use. I love how she used the bubbles to float over the whole page, and I love that title made from the green and blue alphas. Patty is a talented scrapper who has been a guest member of the CT for the past few months, and we have loved seeing her pages with Chelle’s kits.Patty_SpicNSpan

Next, Ronnie made a photo-less layout and wrote about her observations and feeling about chores and the evolution of responsibilities for cleaning in our homes. I hope you will read it, as it is very well written. At the end, she wonders whether robots might take over. I would love for some of my house chores to be taken over by machines.aA Free 44 Observations Template

Next, Jenn also made a photo-less page with this kit and wrote about how she has become a master procrastinator with chores. I learned that Jenn and I have a lot in common! And, I love her clustering on the page with the leaves and flowers behind the note-card journal spots. I think I would much rather make a pretty scrapbook page about cleaning house than actually clean my house. masterprocrastinatorJennS

Finally, Melissa made a page about her little boy helping to clean the house. Her blended photo on the page is beautiful, and the way she has the photo of Dylan on the right layered under the laundry basket so that he looks like he is sitting in the basket is too cute for words. It reminds me of my own children enjoying laundry days because they enjoyed pushing each other around in the laundry basket. Mommas-HelperMelissa

The colors in the kit are peaceful and calming, and I can’t believe I’m typing this, but I am actually inspired to clean something now so that I can take a picture of it and then use this kit to scrapbook about it. (I may have a slight addiction to digital scrapbooking). But, I am also reminded that I would love to have memories recorded of the fun times I have had with my children in doing the necessary chores at home.

I’ll leave you with a closer look at the kit in the market (the image is linked) because I now feel the need to do laundry (with my camera close by).

Mane Event | DIgital Scrapbooking Classics

We’re taking a look at a classic digital scrapbooking kit today: Mane Event. It’s a terrific kit for scrapping about your child’s first hair cut, or a teen’s up-do for prom, or even a mom’s adventurous side letting a young one practice braiding skills on her (right Jenn?). But, this kit is also great for non-hair related themes because of the bright, cheerful color scheme. Chelle’s very Creative Team members have made some gorgeous new layouts to show how versatile this kit is. Watch out! There’s even a page dedicated to a place some call the “happiest place on earth!”

First, let’s look at Erica’s page of a child’s first haircut. Erica is a hairstylist, and she assures me that every baby’s first haircut instantly transforms him from baby to toddler. That fact is evident in her layout. I love that cluster of scissors, comb, and string on the top right. Collage Templates and The Mane Event - by Chelle's Creations Next, take a look at Carol’s page. She used the Mane Event Add-on kit. Look closely at what her granddaughter is doing with that comb before she combs grandpa’s hair. So CUTE! But, I’m sure he didn’t mind.  CarolJ_maneEvent Now, look at Jenn’s page. Remember that adventurous mom I mentioned? I think her daughter did a great job with the mermaid braid on her first try. I know I can’t do any better. And, I think Jenn was smart to make a scrapbook page about it. Sometimes, the fun, everyday moments are the ones we need to remember when days aren’t so fun. JennstylingmomFinally, you need to take a look at Heather’s page. She is a Disney fan, through and through, and she participates in a scrapper’s forum online where she was challenged to make a page about a recent trip to the “happiest place on earth.” The challenge was to do a scavenger hunt through her pictures of specific things that could be seen in the park. She chose Chelle’s Creations Mane Event kit and her Askew Templates, and they a perfect match for her pictures. Look how she was able to fit lots of photos and journal boxes on the page and how the purple brings out the happiness of the photos.Heatherscavhunt12_600 Here’s a closer look at these kits in the market. Images are linked, if you want to click and shop.xctmpfOBu7qxctmpN4MlM9 And, if you are interested in a bargain, here’s the bundle of the Mane Event kit, the Add-on, an alpha, and Word Art: xctmphLOIcy

7.14 Heroes Playdate

Hello Again! Chelle’s Aunt Sari here. I don’t know about you, but I sure have been enjoying Chelle’s newest products this week. A collab with Cheri of Dream Big Designs on Heroes: Police, Fire, & EMTs. The Heroes Super Bundle is  HUGE and FWP are the Heroes Clusters & Stackers!  Chelle recently told a story about the creation of this kit, it was too funny not to share!!

“I think my favorite part of this collection is the little handcuffs. Eeek! I made the chain using some silky “string” that I usually use for CU strings. I cut little pieces…burned the edges so they wouldn’t fray, then warmed up the edges & stuck them together to form links. (In your head you should be seeing me trying to hold tiny pieces of string together over a flame without burning myself. LOL! Actually I held one end with jewelry pliers and the other end I could hold with my fingers, but back a bit (they are still tiny…about 1″ around) The problem was the flame. I didn’t want to find a candle for just those 3 links, so I was trying to hold the light-the-grill-lighter — the kind that you have to hold a dial AND push a button to light the flame–AND hold the pliers & the other end. Yea…after burning myself a couple of times I had to get DH and one of my kids to help me. LOL”

Are you laughing still? Me too! Let me breakdown everything that’s available. I don’t want you to miss a thing.

For those of you who want to create with CU Products, Chelle offers CU Birdlegs Alpha Doodles.

Chelle’s Creative Team went must have had their hair on fire as they designed this week. Gosh! Every time I turned my computer on and looked at the creative team’s LO, I expected to be blown away by the sirens. They were smokin! What ingenuity!! They really had their thinking caps on for some of the ideas. What til you seem them.

Hugs!

7.10 Perfect Pairs: Let’s Camp S’more & On The Trail | Digital Scrapbooking Kit Combinations

Hello everyone! Chelle’s Aunt Sari here. I may not like camping myself, but I love the great outdoors! I also think that there is no better dessert that S’mores. I served a mission for our church in the Montana-Billings Mission (91-93). One of the area’s I covered was 2 small communities (Columbia Falls & Hungry Horse) just outside of Glacier National Park. In fact, the park was in my area. I love western Montana. It was so beautiful. We spent several of our P-days (or days off) in Glacier on the hiking trails. Later in the summer we hiked up to the “Chain Lakes” for a baptism. It was physically hard for me, but I didn’t want to miss it! It was in bear country, though, so we had to hike with members of our church who had a license to carry a rifle or revolver.

Let’s Camp S’more and On The Trail are available in individual kits, or they are available in the Great Outdoors Bundle as a discount. Got any scouts in your family? Keeping track of their patches and awards? My friend LuAnn didn’t scrapbook but wanted a scrapbook for her son’s Eagle Court Of Honor. She asked me to do it, so I paid Chelle & her younger sister (an extreme pittance) to do that scrapbook. It was so dang awesome! I can’t remember the exact year but I think it was around 1997. My point? Chelle made your scout’s scrapbook super easy when she created On The Trail Quickies & Let’s Camp S’more Quickies that match these kits. Just a thought…

Chelle’s creative team have given me some wonderful layouts that I get to share with you.
