Happy Monday to you from Chelle and the Chelle’s Creative Team!  Guest Andrea here to show you a couple of fantastic layouts that have been uploaded this week.  It’s been just about a month since July 4th but I think I am still feeling extra patriotic as both of these layouts use Chelle’s fantastic Fireworks!  kit.

The first is by amber565.  I love how she highlighted the black and white picture with the bold white frame in the center and balanced out the outer portions of her layout with the angled papers and stitching.  The combination of the awesome Fireworks Alpha and the classic white typewriter font she used for the date is perfection.  And who can resist that sweet little 4th of July baby?!?

Next we have chocochoco’s amazing page called Feeling Free.  Her photo treatment and blend is just stunning, and it’s angled placement and shape is so eye catching.  Paired with her lovely clusters that have a great sense of motion – you’ve got one fabulous page!

I’m sure you can agree these two are true patriotic gallery standouts!

Friday Recipe: Meatloaf

Here is a recipe…..
Hi Everyone!  Happy Friday!  I don’t know about you but I love the weekends and how I can relax and at the same time spend a little time on some favorite recipes!  I’ve decided to share my all time favorite and only meatloaf recipe today! Years ago, during a weight loss journey, I found this in a Weight Watchers cookbook and loved it after first bite.  I don’t eat any other meatloaf, and will make two at the same time and freeze one loaf! I hope you enjoy it!

Prep: 10 min
Cooking Time: 45-50 min @ 400 degrees
Serves 4-6
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds ground skinless turkey
1 cup Fat Free Mild Chunky Salsa
1 Small onion, diced
1/2 cup Frozen Corn kernels
1/3 cup instant Mashed Potato Flakes
1 Egg White
2 Garlic Cloves, Minced
1 Teaspoon Dried Oregano
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/4 Teaspoon Ground Pepper
1. Prehead oven to 400 degrees.
2. Combine in a large bowl: turkey, 1/2 cup of the salsa, corn, potato flakes, egg white, oregano, salt and pepper. Mix up really well.
3. Transfer to meatloaf pan.
4. Spread the remaining salsa onver the top.
5. Bake until temerature registers 165 degrees, approx 45-50 minutes.
6. Let stand for approx 10 minutes.
7. Cut into 12 slices.
Approx for 2 slices — 160 Cal, and 1 G Fat.
As for my own preference, I use more salsa than the recipe calls for, so I can completely cover the top. Any salsa works great…Also, if you love cheese – sprinkle some on top after baking!  YUM!

Have a great Friday and thanks for visiting!

Hello! Roxana here! Do you have kits, that you bought for some specific pics and then never used again? I guess for most of us the answer is yes, but there are some ways to get the most of our kits. In every kit you can always find generic stuff, like ribbons, flowers, buttons or even non themed patterned papers. Having that in mind and the palette of the pics you want to scrap, choose a themed kit, you’ll see that using most of the generic elements you’ll be able to get a great page. And remember some extra tools that might help you as well, clipping papers or using blending modes and  styles with the themed elements.

Here a couple of examples I made to inspire you to use a themed kit with non related pics.

First this page I scrapped using History Lessons. See how I used most of the generic elements and papers in the kit. And I even used one themed element as a mat for the center pic.

The next page was made using Fireworks,  I decided to use all the stars and fireworks as the main elements in my clustering, as I had a big light on my BG pic. And I really love banners, but this one was themed, so I clipped a patterned paper to it. In this kit the alpha is themed too, so I clipped a paper and added a stroke.

Hope these tips are helpful and you can re-use your themed kits again and again! Happy scrapping!!
