Hey Scrappers! I attended the first ever SOUL (Scrap Orchard University Live) webinar last night. It was sooo much fun! Chelle was there as the guest There were 77 people chatting during the presentations. It was fun to get to know my “friends” from Scrap Orchard! I can’t wait for next month’s SOUL. They are actually doing 2 webinars. The regular monthly SOUL will be on August 2nd and the 2nd will be the 8-9th to announce the Iron Scrapper winner. You’ll have to make sure you register and attend.

This week Chelle released ToadallyToadally Quickies & CU Baker’s Twine Flowers. Fun. Fun. Fun! Toadally has been one of my favorite bundle’s Chelle has created. I love pink and green and bits of blue & yellow together. She offers Toadally Bundle with Toadally Quickies as FWP. If you picked up  Toadally Add-OnToadally Stacks & Toadally Doodles back in March, you can pick up Toadally and Toadally Quickies individually.

So here are the product images:

Have you been picking up the Oh! Snap series of daily downloads. July is Chelle’s birthday month and she has some good stuff on her web site. Here is today’s download. On the Water | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

Anyone need to cool off? If you’re in North America, chances are you’ve seen some extremely hot temperatures this week, and you might have been on the water to cool off during our record breaking heat wave over the weekend. Did you take your camera and get some good photos? Chelle’s Creations has the perfect classic kit for your pictures called On the Water. In fact, even if you haven’t been to the lake recently, you might need to make a digital scrapbooking project with this kit just to dream of your next trip to the water. Her Creative Team members have been playing with the kit and have made some outstanding pages.

Kayla made a 2 page spread using the On the Water kit, the word art, and Chelle’s new Collage Templates (square). I love the blocked look of the templates and the background paper made of boating signs. KaylaLakesideAdventures_July10_wKaylaTroop480Lake_July10_web Next, Patty made a page of photos of her dogs playing at a special lakeside camp for dogs. Looks like her fur babies LOVED this vacation. I really like the way she placed the tree on the edge of the page, and I love her use of the water splash elements in clusters behind her photos. Patty_OnTheWater Finally, Ronnie made a page using the kit and word art, as well, but she altered the word art to fit her needs. The original word art has black letters for the phrase “Need for,” but Ronnie needed them to be white in order to be legible when placed on the photo. She also wanted to add the words “or not” after speed. She erased the black wording in the element and added her own text layer to read the way she wanted it, but the hard work of creating the title cluster was already done for her. That’s really the beauty of using the word art.Need for Speed

Here’s a closer look at the kit and the word art in the market. cc_onthewater_preview 2 post-01cc_onthewater_wordart_preview2post

Stay cool this week!

6.23 Gymnastics Playdate

Hey Ladies!
Hope your weekend! When I was a child, probably 2nd grade, our school district offered 2-week mini-classes during the summer. I attended one on gymnastics. I was fearless! I jumped from the high bar to the low bar, and then it happened, (duh-duh) I fell!! After that, I was so nervous that I fell off everything. My Olympic dreams shattered on the mat under the bars and chalk residue! LOL! It probably didn’t help that I could never do a cartwheel either. Ha Ha!
Have you seen Chelle & MLE Card’sGymnastics Collab? They definitely deserve a perfect 10!! LOL, but that’s not the way they score gymnastics anymore. It’s huge! Definitely want to pick this up before the London 2012 summer Olympic games! I try to watch all of the events I can. Do you remember seeing Peter Vidmar, Paul Hamm, Nadia, Mary Lou Retton, Shannon Miller & the Magnificent 7 in Atlanta, Nastia Luikin & Shawn Johnson?
I can’t wait for you to see what Chelle & MLE Card have put together. First up is the Bundle w/Swirls & Word Art, and the FWP Quickies. Don’t forget the blog Freebie. (Sheesh! I want to go find a bouncy tent w/all those little balls and take some pictures of kids having fun!) I have got to get me a digital camera!

Do you love banners? CU Banners V3 is available in 4 new shapes! Plus there’s a you tube mini class on Chelle’s Channel. What a great week for digi-designers!

Choo Choo | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

I have loved trains all my life and have spent a fair amount of time around them. I was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and trips to see the Choo Choo and the model railroad museum were regular events in my childhood. Even today, when I plan a vacation, I look for trains to ride – everything from day trip excursions to cross country trips. When I first saw Chelle’s Choo Choo kit in the market, I knew it was for me. After all, I have thousands of photos with my loved ones riding on trains or playing with toy trains! The Creative Team had some time to scrap their memories with this kit this week, and it seems several of them love trains as I do.

First, Heather used some of her pictures from a vacation to Disney World with Choo Choo to make this fabulous layout. I love that border made with the track and train cars.  Heatherrailroad09_600 Next, Erica made a page about her son’s first train ride. That’s definitely an event that needs its own page. I love the way she clustered the elements in groups around the page, and I love the photo of him looking out the train window. Even though I can’t see his face, I can tell he’s smiling from ear to ear. Can you see that? Choo- by Chelle's Creations Finally, Jenn is a real Disney fan, and this train at another location reminds her of her favorite place on earth. I love the title she made from one of the elements in the kit and the alpha. JennSrrcrossing

6.16 Summer Lovin’ Playdate

Hello Friends! “Oh, what do you do in the summertime, when all the world is green. Do you fish in a stream, or lazily dream on the banks as the clouds go by? Is that what you do? So do I.” (Sing along if you know the tune.) Wouldn’t it be great if life did slow down just a bit and let us enjoy summer? Chelle’s Summer Lovin’ kit really draws my mind towards the years before the technology explosion changed all our lives. I don’t remember selling lemonade or kool-aid, we lived in too rural an area for that to work. One of our summer treats was called Banana Crush. (See Chelle’s post @ ScrapOrchard for the recipe) We always looked forward to having Banana Crush on Sunday nights. Of course as the teenage girl’s Chelle and I often “scooped and poured” while her younger sister’s served. Everyone had a second serving.
Chelle really made a beautiful, sentimental Summer Lovin’ Kit. The nostalgic bicycle, little red wagon and pinwheel are certain too be used many times. Then for fun, she also gives us Summer Lovin’ gingham papers that really add a peaceful nostalgia to the designs you’ll create. Don’t forget to download the blog freebie!
For those of you wanting something a bit more challenging, take a look at Chelle’s CU Breezy Alpha Doodles.  Why not stretch your skills and give Chelle’s Alpha Doodles a try. Isn’t the green one with the stitches down the center the cutest ever?

One of Chelle’s unique talents is her desire to share her knowledge with others. She created her YouTube Channel for this purpose and creates mini video classes to help you learn. This week her class was on making it easier to see the layers in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. Check out the video to learn some tricks. She has 29 different videos.

Unlikely Pairs: Girl Power & On the Trail | Digital Scrapbooking Kit Combinations

Hello Friends! Chelle’s Aunt Sari here. Today I am presenting some of the Creative Team’s LOs on Girl Power & On The Trail. At first you might not think of them together, but when you look at these LO’s, you might just change your mind. First up is Karen. I love the blended image of walking down the trail. Love the clusters & borders. The text is PERFECT. Might come in handy for one of your LOs. Love the use of the green and browns in the background paper.

Then we have Mary’s 2-page spread.  Isn’t is lovely, with the beautiful textures? Love the map background and especially the “Trails” with the hiking boot used as an “L.” Love the contrast between the blues & greens.

Last up we have Mel B. What a great idea for a “zoo” page. Love the border cluster in all the shades… Wonderful Job!

What could you scrap with these 2 great kits?

6.9 Soaked Playdate

Hey Everyone? Enjoying your summer? I have a funny story to share. My DS6 (dear sister 6) and I had a 24 ft wide and 4 ft deep pool in our backyard, the one with the air in the lip around the top of the pool. We would come home from work and get in the pool for an hour or so. It was on cement behind the garage. We had lilac bushes in front of our vinyl lattice fence. Mom was with us. She was sitting in her chair with her back to the sun, like she LOVED to do. DS6 and I were floating along doing our thing when DS6 over balanced. (Start laughing now) The lip of the pool dipped and over the edge went a ton of water and DS6, with her butt in the air. She ends up head down between 2 lilac bushes with water streaming over her. I was laughing so hard! She was squealing/gurgling!! Our neighbor’s on the other side of the fence came running. They had 3 small boys. They stood there wide-eyed not making a sound watching to see what we would do. I finally quit laughing (mostly) and got DS6 upright and the lip of the pool straightened up so we didn’t continue to lose water from the pool. Mom wasn’t sure what had happened, but she could definitely see DS6’s butt in the air and she could hear us squealing and laughing. She was laughing as hard as we were, even though her vision was poor enough she couldn’t really see the detail. We had no problem getting SOAKED that day. LOL!  Wish I’d had a camera that day! They’d be great blackmail pictures!!! HAHAHA!  Here are Chelle’s new products for the week.  (HEE HEE HEE! Chelle just e-mailed me and told me that after DS is that person’s age not what number sibling they are. So it wasn’t my 6 year old sister drowning, it was my sister who was roughly 45 years old at the time. I’m learning.)

Here are some designs from the Creative Team… sure looks fun! I picked Jan’s LO as my fav for the week. I just want to crawl into the picture and started getting soaked, splashing, & just having a fun time. They are all marvelous!
