Unlikely Pairs: Gnome Sweet Gnome & Love Grows | Digital Scrapbooking Kit Combinations

Hello Friends! Have I got some great news for you. Our Creative Team has been working on some new digital scrapbooking layouts combining two of Chelle’s collections. Gnome Sweet Gnome & Love Grows. Let me show you.

xctmprJ0dMExctmpHhLS9S

These two kits are so versatile and. I like the nature elements. Unlimited ways to combine them into your upcoming layouts. Chelle’s “Woodsy” alpha is full of delightful whimsy and can make a great impact on your layouts.  Me toes start to curl up when I look at it; I want to sink my toes into that soft & crunchy green grass.

First let me show you what Teri (ta_merkins). Her use of the frame is baby sweet and I love the flower clusters. What a lovely photo of the joy of Mom & Son. The green leaves add some nice dimension to the layout.

Next we have Lynett (Lynett_Rock). She combined patterns with a flower, leaf and ribbon. While it’s very simplistic, it really creates a great mood as you look at the paper images in the “stamps.” Simple, lovely, and many opportunities to journal.
Lynett (lynett_rock) She used Gnome Sweet Gnome, Love Grows, & Stamp Masks

Jan (quiltymom) jumped on board with her layout, “Love That Cupcake!” Her interlocking photos  and title really catch your eye. Her binder clamp cluster is adorable.

Gnome Sweet Gnome | Digital Scrapbooking Classics

Do you love gardening, or even just playing in the dirt? Chelle has several digital scrapbooking kits that are perfect for photos of your yard or garden projects, but two of my favorites are Gnome Sweet Gnome and the Gnome Sweet Gnome Add-on. The dirt splatters and little felt gnome statues are just two of the many whimsical elements perfect for gardening pages. Chelle’s team members have been playing with these kits and have some terrific layouts for us.

First, Kayla has a gorgeous page with one of Chelle’s new In the Pocket {Strips} templates and the Gnome Sweet Gnome Collection. Her daughter is a poser and insisted on having her picture taken in their flower garden on her first day of Kindergarten. I think it was a very smart idea, don’t you? And, I love that pink flamingo and the crocheted flower accenting one of the rectangular paper shapes. PrettyPoser_Aug11_web_zps795398e3

Next, Ronnie has a beautiful layout for us in keeping with the theme of these kits. She visited the Dallas Arboretum, which is a must-see when in Dallas, in my opinion. She saw the gorgeous flowers there and took lots of photos of them, but she captured a really cute picture of her son enjoying the grounds there, too. The brown background and the dirt splat with the gnome are used perfectly here. Chelle Creations - Gnome Sweet Gnome<br />

Finally, to show you the versatility of these kits, Lynett used them for a page that is not about gardening. After a day visiting grandparents, her son and his dog fell asleep in the car, and she couldn’t resist snapping some photos of them. They both look so relaxed and peaceful. The cluster of leaves and ribbons across the top, and the dirt splat behind the photos on the bottom are the perfect enhancements to her adorable photos. sleepyboys_zpseece04ab Mel also made a non-themed layout for us. She had a terrific picture of her boys laughing and giggling (yes, boys do that sometimes, and it’s worth catching in a photo!). The angled design of the page and the bright, cheery colors give the whole page a fun and happy look.Laugh-Out-Loud

8.15 Words On Wednesday: Then & Now | Digital Scrapbooking Words on Wednesday

Howdy! This month one of the challenges we gave the creative team was to create a then and now LO. I missed out on a perfect photo opportunity this last week. My little nephew Zion (age 2 1/2) got home from church and everyone went to change… except Zion. My brother rounded the corner into the kitchen just in time to catch Zion poking his finger in the last roll and deflating it. He saw his Dad and grinned from ear to ear and said, “I did it! I did it!” He was so proud of himself. I can never resist the “I’m-So-Cute-A-Boy-Smile.” His Mom makes rolls of some sort 3 of 4 times a week… so I’m sure he has wanted to “do it” before. He didn’t even get in trouble, they just all laughed. They did have dinner a little late…. after the rolls had a chance to rise again. LOL! Aunts who are 3 hours away don’t usually get “those” pictures. I wanted to share the idea because it was fun! A pan of “before” and “after” rolls with a cute little blonde-haired boy. What ideas do you think of with a then & now theme?
The ladies amazed me again. First up is Kassie showing us a delightful LO of her two girl’s wearing the same dress about 3 years apart. Polka dots make everyone smile & that headband is sooo darn cute. It’s a very simple design with great white spacing,  and the journaling is sweet. It’s a lovely timeless design. Makes me wonder if she’ll keep the dress and do the layout again with her first granddaughter. I just want to pick them up off the page and hugs those little darlings! Love the stitching!

Kassie

Next up is Kayla. I love this idea. One of my niece-in-law’s wanted to decorate her home with pictures of her grandparents and my grandparent’s homes and some of the homes my family lived in before I was born. My sister, Arlene, took pictures of the houses (some while she was in high school) and a fellow elementary teacher painted the houses. (Arlene bought a photocopy of the paintings so that her siblings could each have those pictures. Chelle might have them too.) My Grandma Pitcher had a pink house, My Grandma Griffin’s was white. The home I grew up in was white with green trim. Now that all of the houses have changed ownership and colors, it’s nice to walk around my apartment and see those images from my childhood and youth. Look at what Kayla designed.

Kayla

I saw a story on the TODAY show just this morning about a group of 5 guys who took a picture of themselves in high school. Somewhere along the passage of years, they kept re-enacting that picture and updating it. They have redone that same picture several times through the years. I believe they do it ever 5 years. Shannon has one of her favorite pictures of her girls from 7 years ago and then a more recent picture. What a wonderful way to update and compare her girl’s. I’m sure this design will be a favorite of her girl’s for many years to come.

Shannon

Heather used the ivy growth as a marker for the passage of time at a baseball stadium since it opened in 2004. I think we all use pictures or something physical to help us mark the highlights of our lives. How many of us have a wall where we have pencil lines showing a child’s name and date marking the passage of time and growth?

Heather

Let me give you a wrap-up of the products the ladies used.

Hope we gave you lots of ideas for Then & Now.
Hugs!

5.1 Perfect Pairs: Grandpa’s Garden & Gnome Sweet Gnome | Digital Scrapbooking Kit Combinations

Hi everyone! Chelle’s Aunt Sari here. Today we are looking at some LO using the perfect pairs of Grandpa’s Garden Bundle & Gnome Sweet Gnome Bundle.  Let’s start with Mary (plum dumpling) and her backyard renovation. What a great transformation. Look how well the pictures show the improvements. I bet she’s sure glad all this work is done! You’d never know this LO was done with 2 different bundles.Erica’s provides some great pictures of her Dad and son. Her Dad used the same tractor when he was young and quickly jumped on. Everett wasn’t far behind his Grandpa; both enjoyed his explanation of what each gear was for. Last Carol provides us with a glimpse of her husband’s garden in Washington state compared to what he grew in Iowa. Love the use of white space and circles. Carol combined “real” veggies with Chelle’s “designed” veggies.  I also love the “Gnome” poking out.

And here’s a look at the products they used from Chelle’s store: Hope these great ideas have your just itchin’ to dig up a few LO in Grandpa’s Garden and color them with Gnome Sweet Gnome.

4.17 Perfect Pairs: Toadally Add-on and Gnome Sweet Gnome | Digital Scrapbooking Kit Combinations

A great way to make your digital scrapbooking stash seem even larger is to create pages with more than one kit.  Today we are looking at how you can combine Chelle’s Toadally Add-on and Gnome Sweet Gnome.  The creative team has been busy mixing the kits to create some gorgous pages.
I love how Kayla uses a large photo to showcase her beautiful flower garden.
What a cute little help Carol has to make sure her vegetables are growing.  I love the stitching used on this page.

I love the way Erica arranged the photos on the page. Just look at those silly glasses.

Do you own one of these kits?  If you do pick up the other so you can combine them together to stretch your own stash.  Head over Chelle’s store to check them out!  Here’s a better look at both kits.

Also be sure to check out the Gnome Sweet Gnome Add-on.  Chelle is the featured designer at DST this month.  Go check out the Toadally kit there.  Even more goodies to make you stash grow.
