CU Dotty Patterns Playdate | DIgital Scrapbooking Week In Review

Hello.

This will be a quick review. Chelle released only 1 product this week from her CU Store. Gone are the days of plain & simple polka dots.  CU Dotty Patterns makes it quick and easy to spice up your polka dot patterns.

For all of our friends, Chelle mentioned this in her tip of the week. Not so much a tip as a product endorsement.  A few weeks back I heard from Steph (from the Daily Digi & Capturing Magic) about a waterproof phone case.  Well, I already had a life proof case.  In fact I’ve had two of them.  I LOVE taking photos with my phone in wet situations…like the pool & water rides.  But my life proof case is pretty complicated to use and quite expensive  (less than replacing a wet phone, but still…)
ANYWAY…Steph said this phone case was affordable and worked great.  For just $10 I immediately ordered TWO.  (One for my husband and one for my daughter)  IT. IS. AWESOME.  SO easy to use.  Almost as easy as adding your phone to a ziplok back.  AND I don’t have to take my phone out of its case to use it!

Photos are as clear as if my phone was not in the case:

See you next week!

Unlikely Pairs! In the Forest & Green Thumb | Digital Scrapbooking Kit Combinations

Hi!

Today I get to share how our creative team combined two of Chelle’s Kits into one digital scrapbooking layout. In the Forest & Green Thumb. Let me show you the layouts. This first layout is by Jenn J. It’s very peaceful. If I hadn’t know the kits she used, I’m not sure I’d have guessed the right kits.

Jenn J

Donna created this layout. I can easily see Green Thumb but had to look at In the Forest to guess which elements she used. That’s a fun thing for me to do. Try to spot the elements. Could you see them? The In the Forest elements?

Donna

Here are the links to Chelle’s products in the store. I love the critters from In the Forest.

Magical Minis

Are you aware Chelle’s Creations has a couple of fabulous mini kits that are perfect for your Disney digital scrapbooking projects? They are compact and yet completely full of magical goodness for your photos from the happiest place. But they are versatile enough to be used for a variety of themes. Chelle’s CT had the minis Mickey Mouse Club March {sampler} and Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious {Sampler} and they combined them to make a couple of example pages for you.

First Jan made a page of her photos of the Disney character statues at Disneyland. I love the combination of colors and patterns she chose for her background papers. jan-mmcm-supercali

Take a look at Christine’s page. She made a non-Disney page and look how creatively she formed the border. Do you recognize the shape she used? Pretty magical, I think. t68rc7

Here’s a closer look at the two mini kits in the market. Just remember, you don’t have to go to the World or the Land to use these awesome little bargains.

Modifying Templates

It’s time to stretch ourselves and maybe think outside of the box for a bit. There are lots of great templates in the digital scrapbooking world including ones Chelle has in her store. But, maybe you’d like to use something you have already and make it all new, stretch your stash a little. Chelle’s very talented CT members have been playing with templates and their favorite Chelle’s Creations kits to show you how they like to modify templates.

Changing it up can be as easy as making just a few simple moves. Take Roxana’s page, for example. She used Lay It On There {Singles} 5&6 and One Year Older. Then, she modified the background papers and added a photo spot. Now, the template looks totally different, and the page is perfect for capturing her celebration memories.ccjuly10

Kayla got really creative and resized a double page template to fit on one 12×12 page. She began with the Lay It On There {Doubles} 20 freebie. (Hurry: it’s still available for a few more days as the July Template Challenge at Scrap Orchard). She says this about her process: “I simply opened the double file selected all layers except the background layer and copied them to a 12×12 layout. Then shrunk it all down to fit on the page to my liking. I love that I still have a multi-photo layout with plenty of white space to give it a more roomy feel.” She used the Lemonade Stand kit and alpha. DollShop_Feb12_web

Jenn took inspiration from Kayla and did something similar. She began with the Lay It On There {Doubles} 3&4 and the Big City kit. I love the way it looks as the center of her single page. city streets

I hope you’re inspired to use those templates in new ways. If you have a creative way to re-cycle a template, leave us a comment below.

Bug Town

We’re looking back through our digital scrapbooking stash of Chelle’s Creations goodies today. Chelle’s CT has been playing with Bug Town and some of her Little People. Check out what they have for you!

First, Donna did a spectacular job preserving her memories of her special little people collecting Love Bugs. They’re a nuisance to us, but they are fun to the littles. She used At the Park {little people} with our featured minikit Bug Town. She also used one of Chelle’s templates, Lay It On There 3. web_djp332_Bugtown

Krista also had a play but used fewer papers and colors from the kit. I love how she got a totally different look from the Bug Town bundle and recolored the alpha and the frame to achieve the look she wanted. By the way, she also used the At the Park {little people}.

I’m seeing a lot of Chelle’s Little People on pages lately. I love how they add extra interest to any page.
