Unlikely Pairs:Carrot Patch & Bugcatcher | Digital Scrapbooking Kit Combinations

Kimberly here to bring you a set of unlikely pairs: Carrot Patch and Bugcatcher.  The creative team did a fantastic job putting these two kits together.  I do not have these kits YET but after looking at these pages they are on my wish lists for sure.

Kristin created a two page layout using these two kits:

A fun, bright cheerful layout.  I love the flowers, bunnies and soft colors.

Carol created this cheerful layout of her grandson.  I love the butterflies, circles and scatters…so cute!

Cara created a fun Easter layout from Easter 2011.  I love the excitement in that sweet face.

Great job ladies!  Here is a closer look at the kits they worked with this week:

3.31 Toadally Add-On Playdate

Hello Friends! Chelle’s Aunt Sari here. This is the funnest kit ever! Right after Chelle showed me the Toadally series, I asked if she remembered us chasing the little frogs in my backyard with the lawnmower when we were kids? She didn’t remember so passed a few LOLs back and forth. If they’d been this cute, I would have just caught them in my hand instead of playing chase with the lawnmower. Somehow I think we should have had the Jaws music (dun….dun….dun…dun..dun.dun.dun – you get the idea) going in the background as we chased the poor little frogs, and really, what were they harming? Are you a gold member @ Digi Shop Talk?  You’re going to wish you were. Chelle’s the featured designer in April. Toadally is only available to their gold & diamond members. So it won’t be available in the SO market until July. But Toadally Add-On, Stacks, & Doodles are available now. Check out the LOs below. My fav LO of the week is: Roxana’s LO #2. Have a great week! Hugs!

And, as you will see, very versatile! Here it is in the Scrap Orchard store.  You can  also get the add on E-I-E_I_O felties, the E-I-E-I-O bundle, and a set of E-I-E-I-O Quickies! Now on to the layouts of members of Chelle’s Creative Team! First, we have Mary. A darling page and I love those photo mats!  Next we have Karen’s double page layout. I love those peek-a-boos and the clustering!  Now on to show off the versatility! Our first layout is from Kairyn, also a double pager. Isn’t it amazing that you can do something like this with a farm kit?! Love it!  Our last layout for the day comes from Jennifer. I love the layout, the clustering!  Thanks for looking at this wonderful kit with me. I hope you have been given some inspiration to create your own wonderful pages with this E-I-E-I-O kit! Have a wonderful day!

Using Tags

Tags come in many digital scrapbooking kits, in various shapes and sizes, but do you always use them the same way? Do you struggle with creative ways to use the tags you have? Take a look at what Chelle’s Creations CT members have done to inspire you to use your tags:

First, Roxana has created a refreshing page with pool pictures and used the tags as photo mats and journal spots. I love the stitching on the tags!  50-cieneguilla-left-webRoxana Next, Lynett used a tag for part of her title and a smaller tag tucked away under the pictures for the date. She must be more limber than me, but that Twister game sure looks like fun! twistedLynette

I have to admit, I’ve never thought about doing this, but Kayla used a grouping of tags on her layout to make a striking border that is a perfect fit for her page about her priceless children. Priceless_Jan11_webKayla I think I’ll have to scraplift her idea; it’s so appropriate for her page.

Finally, Neenee is a girl after my own heart. I struggle with grabbing all the wrong kids of foods for snacks, and her page tells my story as well as her own. She has made a title like a border with each letter of the title on a different tag, and it makes a stunning impact. I may have to copy this and put it on my office bulletin board to remind me to control the munchies. chelle_snacks_webNeenee If your stash is low on tags, you can find some great choices in Chelle’s store here and here.

3.24 Batter Up Playdate!

3.24 Batter Up Playdate! Don’t forget to Swing On Over & Get This Alpha!
Hello fellow baseball & softball lovers!
Chelle’s Aunt Sari here! When Chelle and I were teenagers, we played softball during the summer on a community/church team. We had softball practice one day a week and a game later in the week. It seems Chelle and I have been tossing things back and forth to each other for about as long as I can remember. She was the pitcher and I was the catcher for several years. I don’t remember if we won or lost, but as we tossed that ball back and forth for each batter in each inning, I realized we were learning valuable lessons. Patience, persistence, camaraderie, and follow-through. Everything in life follows patterns – whether we’re playing softball or digi-scrapping, isn’t life about celebrating your “peeps” and all their accomplishments? My fav LO of the week goes to Heather and her “Places I’ve Been” design. You could easily change it to fit your needs. This week, celebrate what you’ve learned watching a game (in-person or on tv) about yourself, your DH, DS or DD as they participated in America’s Favorite Pastime! I’m looking forward to Opening Day!

Love all the greens in this layout by tiffany scraps.

3.17 Girl Power Reloaded

Hello Everyone! Girl Power is NOT your grandmother’s Girl Power (It’s been reloaded!) My Grandma Mon (Chelle’s Great Grandma) wanted a fence around a flower bed moved, and it wasn’t getting done. Gram was not one to let grass or anything else grow beneath her feet. Sooooo, she used her mighty girl power and went outside while her kids were eating lunch and wired the fence to the back of the tractor. When our uncle went out and started the tractor to go back to the field, the fence went right along with him. Problem Solved. Go Girlpower!!!  Do you have any fun stories about girl power? We should all think outside the box (of cookies as there aren’t any left inside them)  as you’ll see some of this week’s LOs are!  My fav LO of the week is Jenn Schultz’s Best Of Friends. Whooooooo! Love, Aunt Sari

Prehistoric: Digital Scrapbooking Classics

This is the second day of my spring break from school, and I am taking time to organize my digital scrapbooking supplies. I have found some great kits in my stash that I once relied heavily upon, but lately I’ve been too busy to even remember I had them! Some of Chelle’s Creations very talented team members have been looking back into their computer files, as well, and they have provided a few scrapbook pages using the great classic kit called Prehistoric to give you some new inspiration.

Jennifer used the kit to document a trip to Rapid City, SD, and it’s perfect because her children are sitting on a dinosaur statue. I love how she used the felt dinosaurs to draw attention to the “real” dino in the photo.   web_Rapidcitysd_jennifer Ophelia also had some photos to scrap with a dinosaur theme. She took her son and his cousin to a museum that had a dinosaur dig. I love the footprint stitching highlighting the child in the photo.

Ronnie also used the kit, but her photos have nothing to do with dinosaurs. She and her husband were eating at a famous restaurant, the H3 Ranch, and took photos of the rustic décor and gorgeous food preparations, so the colors and textures of the Prehistoric kit were a perfect choice for her scrapbook page. Have you done your computer spring organizing yet and found the great classic kit Prehistoric? Make a page (or three!) with it and post in Chelle’s Gallery at Scrap Orchard. We love to see all the creative ways Chelle’s friends use her kits. What? You don’t own this kit? Click on the preview image of the kit here, and it will take you right to the store for a closer look. cc_prehistoric_preview_2post

Happy Scrapping!

3.10 Carrot Patch Playdates

Hello Friends!
Doesn’t spring make you want to go outside and plant a garden or some flowers? When I was a little girl, my Dad grew a garden, a very large garden with 3 rows of carrots. (I’m speaking of my father and Chelle’s grandfather) Dad would send us kids out to work in the garden specifically to weed the carrots. As I weeded along the row, I would look over at my sister’s rows and they would look different than mine. I could never tell the carrots from the weeds. Turns out I was pulling the carrot seedlings and leaving the weeds. When I would realize I was doing it wrong, I’d quickly backtrack and try to replant those seedlings. But Dad ALWAYS knew! Maybe because I never replanted them in a straight row or watered them W-A-Y more than I needed to. I hope Chelle’s Carrot designs make you think of fun memories of childhood gardens!
Here are Chelle’s new products for the week!

The bonus alpha is FREE with the purchase of the bundle through 3.14

One last thing, My fav LO of the week is, drum roll please, Ronnie’s Salzberg LO #2.
