Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Letters from Home

It’s Tuesday, Chelle’s friends, so let’s look at a classic Chelle’s Creations kit, Letters from Home. It has a vintage feel and a bit of a patriotic look, as well, so it’s perfect for your digital scrapbooking projects of various events from the past or present. Chelle’s Creative Team members have a few pages to show you.

First, Krista has a photo of a young person she supports through World Vision, and she made a page using Chelle’s kit about her personal story and involvement with Madalitso in Malawi.  I love all the angles she used for placement of the photo and all her elements. And, I love the way the little felt stamps are tucked under the framed photo.27312

Next, Jenn made a page about her daughter leaving home to go to college. A lot of us, including Chelle, are going through that same experience right now, and what better way to celebrate a young person’s accomplishments and at the same time assuage the pangs of this bittersweet time than by making a scrapbook page as a tribute. Like Krista, Jenn used lots of layered frames and elements behind her photo, and yet the photo is still center stage and the highlight of the page. I love all the buttons Jenn used; it’s so much easier to do this digitally than with real buttons, right? And, yet, Chelle’s elements look like actual, tangible buttons on the page. leavinghome

Finally, Tammy has made a page about her cute little guy dressed the part of postman for his speech class. She tells the story of how he was too shy to volunteer to play the part, but on the last day of class, he overcame his hesitancy and did very well. I’m so glad she has the photos for the page! Look how she used the twine in the kit – it looks great wrapped around the banner behind her pictures. Mr-Postman

Here’s a closer look at the kit in the market. The preview image is linked to the store, in case this classic kit has escaped your grasp in the past. cc_lettersfromhome_kit

Shari used Primarily Mini, Celebrate Bold, & Chilln & Grillin. Her use of the 3 pictures really tells the tale of the pinata party they had.

Likely Pairs: Beat the Heat and In the Pool | Digital Scrapbooking Kit Combinations

Hello! I bet you can think of several photos you could scrap with Beat the Heat and In the Pool that are just sitting in your computer. Or, several you could “manufacture.” I think everyone “creates” a photo for the layout they want to do. Just in case you don’t remember, here’s the pieces of these 2 great kits.

Now let me show you what the ladies came up with.  Erica (stanworth) used the yellows in Beat the Heat along with the blues from In the Pool to demonstrate how excited her son was with his new goggles.  Love all the little photos showing the different stages of his grin.

Jenny shares her layout showing what happens to a clean face when you add ice cream. Love the use of the frames and clusters. Judging by his face, the cone was really good!
Jenny (jenn18)

I hope you take a few minutes and scrap one of your favorite photo’s using Beat the Heat and In the Pool. Perhaps you’ll find just the spot for the ITP {Little People}. If you do, share it in the forum so I can see it also.

Gallery Stand Outs | Digital Scrapbooking Layout Ideas

Hi Ya’All, I found some digital scrapbooking layouts to share with you from the Scrap Orchard pin gallery.

First I have Aurian’s layout using Naughty or Nice. Love all the bitty pictures showing all the activities her family celebrated during Christmas 2012. Absolutely love this.

Next I have Meagan43. She used On the Trail. I love split in the page with the large photo on one side and the journaling on the left. It really emphasizes the height of the trees and waterfall.

The 3rd layout I have to share this week is by Janine (Neeny) She used Stacked Wonky, Apple of my Eye, Raninbow Greens & Reds. Just adorable!

Then we have CU Label Shapes for those of you who want to try your hand on the commercial side of scrapping. There are some great shapes and labels that you could easily place in your layouts. Give them a try!

We had a lot of fun this week playing Scrap Twister, our new monthly scrap-along-with Chelle chat.  Click on the link and see what layouts the ladies created. We used the spinners to get the specifics of the layout requirements. Type of Photo, Frame Requirements, Papers Requirements, Word Requirements, & Embellishment 1 &2 Requirements. Try the spinners out, they sound just like that spinner in the middle of the LIFE board game. So cool! There was a participation alpha freebie that matched the Pizza & Pasta bundle if you posted a layout from the challenge. Keep your eyes and ears open, we’ll announce the date for next month’s Scrap Twister closer to the 1st of September.

Our Creative Team and Guests had a wonderful time working with our digital scrapbooking Pizza & Pasta bundle and the individual kits. Spoiler Alert! If you are hungry, view thse at your own risk.  LOL!

Don’t miss out on the Facebook Freebie that coordinates with Pizza & Pasta, Noodle Alpha. Kayla, KeepScrappin, created a new Freebie you can use on your Back 2 School Layouts. Enjoy!

Friday Freebie! Back 2 School | Digital Scrapbooking Freebies

Hello digi scrappers,

It’s Back 2 School time around here and I’m not ready – Yikes!  I’ve got just over a week to get it all done.  With 3 kids going to 3 different schools, this year is going to be crazy, crazy, crazy.  I’m hoping to get them on a good schedule and try to keep things simple this year so we all don’t go insane.  LOL

Speaking of keeping things simple, I’ve made up a little cluster for ya with Chelle’s Back 2 School kit.  Use it to quickly document that first day of school or another educational moment.

Take care and keepscrappin,

Back 2 School: Fall Semester

Are you ready for the new school year? I’m getting excited! I love to shop for school supplies, and digital scrapbooking school supplies are no exception. Chelle has a great mini kit for scrapping my high school student’s pictures called Back 2 School: Fall Semester, and a couple of members of her CT have been playing with this mini using snapshots from their children’s school days.

Jen has the perfect formula for a meaningful page for the first day of high school: first, she has the picture of her students inserted into the laptop frame from the mini kit. Next, she listed the courses for the year on the side of the page using the brads as bullets on her list. She added the chalked alpha from the Back 2 School kit and a few other items from that kit, as well. With the clusters of elements from the mini around her photo, it’s the perfect first day of school page for a high school student.btsfallsemester

Tammy also used the Back 2 School kit and the Fall Semester Mini kit for her page. She also chose to use the laptop frame – it is perfect for photos of middle school and high school students, isn’t it? I love the spiral notebook she used as a background, and I really love how she changed the chalked alpha to black so that it looks like it was written with a crayon. Back-2-Homeschool

Let me show you the kit and the mini in the market. By the way, if you’re thinking of buying them both, check out the bundle. For the price of the these two kits, the bundle also has some great word art added as a bonus.
